Jesper and Kari Gram, Danish physicians who also manage three farms and 37 apartments, claim that hygge and hard work go hand-in-hand. Their daily routine begins with bottle-feeding seven liters of milk to their newest calf at 5am. Then, after caring for patients, making repairs or cleaning their apartments, or executing contracts for new tenants, the calf will need another seven liters of milk before the Grams go to sleep.
Two of Jesper and Kari’s four children, Mads and Christian, follow the family tradition by working together to restore an old school building Mads recently purchased. They hope to transform it into a kite-surfing camp.
